I need breakfast help!

This might sound like a strange request, but does anyone have any suggestions for breakfast ideas that are high in protein? I am sick to death of eggs and low-fat waffles and peanut butter! If I don't eat some protein in the morning, I am so hungry within 2 hours that it probably would have been better if I hadn't eaten breakfast at all. Take this morning, for example, I had honey nut Cheerios and by 9:00 (when I am in the middle of waiting in an interminably long and slow checkout line in Wal-Mart) I become so ravenous I am tempted to gnaw on the Uno's frozen deep-dish pizza in the cart.

So, any suggestions for yummy (preferably easy) breakfasts loaded with protein? Even better, anyone willing to come to my house each morning and prepare said breakfast? Pretty please?

Patty,

Well, the milk one puts on one's cereal has protein, but I guess that's not enough to keep your hunger at bay. The breakfast protein issue is a tough one. What about looking for some lower fat turkey sausages or bacon? Also, don't forget the importance of fiber, which fills one up rather nicely, as well. Try to find the highest fiber cereals you can - the Kashi ones are great! Also look for high fiber bread products, "bars", etc. Oh, and look for whole wheat tortillas - I buy a kind here that has 14 grams of fiber in each tortilla! Make a b-fast burrito with some eggs in that, and you'll be chock full of protein AND fiber! And, I also stir Fiber Sure fiber supplement into my coffee. It's a bit pricey, but you can stir it into anything, and it adds 5g of fiber per teaspoon. Hope those suggestions help!

I'm a big fan of Kashi GoLean Hot Cereal (Very Vanilla flavor). It has 9g of protein per packet. It fills me up till lunch time.

Another thing that is full of protein and is filling are the Fiber One Chewy Bars - one bar has 9g of protein. I like the Oats and Peanut Butter flavor but there is also an Oats and Chocolate flavor that is pretty good.

Good luck! I have to have protein every morning too or I will want to snack. I either eat and egg or the Kashi Hot Cereal.

I am not a huge breakfast eater- sometimes I will make a ham sandwich- on toast to make it more "breakfasty"

I like the Balance Bars--particularly the cookies ones. They do have lots of protein. And an egg roll-up. Essentially that's an omelette rolled up. Or Carnation Instant Breakfast...that's tough!

Thanks everyone! I will have to try some of these, particularly the carnation instant breakfast. What could be easier, right?

Maybe make yourself a little mini pizza on a whole wheat bagel, some mozzarella for protein maybe some fresh tomatoes, put it in the toaster a bit. Nothing better than pizza for breakfast.

I feel your pain, Patty! I am not a big fan of breakfast but if I don't eat it, I'm dizzy and quite grouchy around 11:00. Here's a link to a post on my blog that has some ideas I use for me and my kids.
